dragon: I have been informed that MSIE users experienced problems when attempting to print out the essays in the journal. Although other browsers seem to handle the print command smoothly and resize the page to fit A4, I have set up printable pages of each article for IE users, too. Just click on the "Print View" button at the top of the article you wish to print.
karen: I wonder what kind of radio you are thinking of? One playing American music? Otherwise, the journal is of extremely high quality, Congrats.
dragon: From today on you can post a message using this Tag Board, or you can choose our GustMap, where you can pin a note to the country on the map you are sending the message from. Let's see where in the world do people read AMERICANA!

Volume II, Number 1, Spring 2006 is NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

We are happy to announce that the new issue of AMERICANA is now online. The new issue is packed with essays from all over the world, from Nepal to Poland, from Finland to the USA and many more! Read the articles and discuss them on our forum. Also, we have updated our toolbar: from now on you can get your weather forecast and notification about your new emails! All you need to do is to set your parameters and enjoy the new comfortable features. USA readers: you may also choose our new text messaging service - any time we update our pages or post a new entry, you can get an sms notifying you immediately.

Please let everyone know that the new issue is out, and don't forget: we are coming soon with the new CFP!

New Journal Form and Structure --- DOWNLOAD Vol. I. No. 1. in pdf format

We have reconstructed AMERICANA - E-Journal of American Studies in HUngary to fit smaller screen resolutions. With the new design we have also restructured the structure of the journal in order to make it easier the archiving process, and to enhance searches in volumes. Therefore please note that the addresses of the essays included in Volume I, Number 1, Fall 2005 have changed. Authors are kindly asked to check their essays and take note of the new access route (a subfile of "volIno1" has been added just before the direct page in the address). Thank you for your understanding.

Before the release of the new issue of AMERICANA at the beginning of May 2006, we edited a pdf version of Volume I., Number 1., Fall 2005. You can download it from the journal site.

The AnaChronisT --- CFP

The AnaChronisT,

a blind peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of English
Studies, Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary,

invites research papers and interviews on literatures in
English for its next issue, to be published in December 2006. All topics
within the realm of English-language literatures are acceptable. Papers are
to be submitted by Tuesday, 18 April 2006.

The AnaChronisT welcomes submissions by graduate and doctoral students as
well as academics. The requirements of application are as follows:

- the text in Word or RTF document format sent to the following e-mail
address: anachronist@freemail.hu (your paper should not exceed 10,000 words,
including footnotes);

- one hard copy of the essay sent to the address below (in exceptional cases
e-submission is sufficient without a hard copy; please contact the editors);

- an abstract of 150-200 words;

- a note on the author's professional status and achievements (up to
8 lines, including affiliation, publications, etc.) as well as contact
data;

- for the formal requirements of submission please e-mail the editors or
visit our homepage at www.anachronist.hu.

Papers are read and evaluated by the editors and an independent referee.

The AnaChronisT is indexed by the MLA, ABELL, and EBSCO.

Call for Papers - Volume II, Number 1.

This is to announce our Call for Papers for the next issue (Volume II, Number 1) of AMERICANA - E-Journal of American Studies in Hungary. We are soliciting papers tackling issues in the interdisciplinary field of American Studies. The deadline for submitting your contribution is March 31, 2006. If you plan to submit an essay, please consult our submission guidelines and send your abstract to the editors either as an email attachment to americana_ejournal@fastmail.fm (.doc format preferred) or via our online submission form. We would also like to ask everyone to encourage colleagues and students as well to send abstracts, and to pass the word around.

New Discussion Forum

From now on, readers of the essays of AMERICANA can post their comments, questions or observations on our new discussion board. You may find direct links to the forum on the menu panel on the left side of the journal and also of this news/blog.

We have also added "print view" forms of the essays of Volume I, Number 1, set for A4 size paper.

AMERICANA - E-Journal of American Studies in Hungary is finally online! Visit AMERICANA and read the articles written by scholars and students from all over the world. If you want to be up to date on what's going on at AMERICANA, download our toolbar and join our mailing list on the front page of the journal.
